Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson. I love the writing, the characters, the over-the-top premise (it’s about a young woman who becomes nanny to two children who spontaneously combust). It’s whimsical, fierce, and telling, and the language is masterful.
I am a fan of fanciful books, laced with wit. This is definitely that. Wilson made an excellent decision to keep the book slim, I think even I might have tired of the concept eventually.
Is it Sapphic? Yes, and also no. It feels like it’s going to be bigger than it ends up being. I really wanted a different ending. ymmv.
