All stories, if continued far enough, end in death, and he is no true-story teller who would keep that from you.
– Ernest Hemingway
I like to quip that “Nobody gets out alive,” and this addresses that idea, with a little more poetry. Our stories, our lives and the stories of the people with whom we intersect, will always end. Knowing that helps me understand that what I experience today is part of a story that has value, because it is precious to everyone who has a part in it.
