Hormones

Hormones, in this case testosterone and estrogen, have incredible and ongoing effects in humans. Yes, they are often most associated with puberty (and second puberties!), but even outside of that, they continue to regulate how we feel, think, and act. Here’s a good overview, from the Gender Dysphoria Bible.

In transitioning, I’ve gotten rid of testosterone (though the kidneys continue to make small amounts, as they do in everyone), and added estrogen. The changes have been, incredible, disappointing, emotional, amazing. Here are some posts that center around hormones.
